What birth details should I find?

A checklist to keep when asking family.

  1. Date: Gregorian or lunar calendar? For lunar dates, note any leap month.
  2. Time and source: a record, family memory, or an adjusted software result?
  3. Place: country and city at birth. Mark anything you do not know as unknown.

Use the place of birth, not your ancestry or current address. No street address or identity document is needed. Keep the original time; do not invent one to fill a field. This checklist helps organise your records. Check the application page for the full submission requirements.

If this might help later, keep a copy of the card.
